A single illustration inspired by the Norwegian fairy tale East of the Sun, West of the Moon, developed in 2023 and later released as an art print.
A self-initiated illustration developed in 2023, depicting the central image of one of Scandinavian folklore's most beloved tales — a girl riding through a winter night on the back of a white bear. The piece was later produced and sold as an art print.
Overview
The girl's flowing auburn hair becomes the warmest element in an otherwise icy scene — merging with the bear's fur and the winter air in a way that suggests motion, magic, and inevitability.
The palette is deliberately split: deep blue-grey night sky and frost-white bear against the amber glow of her hair, which functions almost as a light source. The loose watercolor treatment keeps the image feeling atmospheric and dreamlike rather than literal.
