O Buraco das Araras is a children’s picture book about the Hole of the Macaws, a beautiful rocky place in Brazil known for the presence of families of Macaws living there.
The author approached me with the idea to create very colorful and bright illustrations. She became a mother and started her career as an author. The reason behind the theme is because she and her husband have a beautiful story of metaphors: macaws mate for life.
The project was done all digital with traditional media carachteristics in mind. I can’t express how much fun I had while researching and designing the macaws, the landscapes and the life cycle of the birds. Also, how cute it is that their wings from behind ressemble a heart!
